Music

At the heart of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church is worship.

We gather on Sundays at 10:00 am for worship.

We worship through prayer, music, scripture, preaching, sacraments and offering. Each Sunday we offer services designed to help you experience Jesus' love in an environment that you will find most comfortable. Communion is celebrated the second Sunday of each month.

The Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at OPPC offers several opportunities for musicians to share their talents within worship. Below is a list of ensembles that are open to all who wish to participate. Please contact Mike Pietranczyk, Director of Music, if you are interested in any of OPPC’s Music Ministries.

Ensembles

  • Brass Ensemble

The OPPC Brass Ensemble is currently a sextet, with percussion. The Brass Ensemble provides special selections and hymn accompaniment throughout the year, during regular and festival worship services. Usually the group rehearses 4-5 weeks prior to a special service or holiday on Wednesdays, from 6:45pm - 7:30pm. Anyone interested in playing is encouraged to contact Michael Pietranczyk, Director of Music.

  • Handbell Choirs

    Chancel Ringers

This is the larger of 2 new handbell ensembles in the OPPC Music Ministry. It’s a 5-octave choir that performs on a regular monthly basis and plays primarily AGEHR level 2-3 repertoire. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

    Bell Canto

This “chamber” handbell group focuses on advanced repertoire and performs without a conductor. The players work toward proficiency in advanced techniques (4-in-hand, 6-in-hand, Shelley, etc.) and complex rhythm. Bell Canto presents music in worship regularly, and out in the community as musical ambassadors for OPPC. Rehearsals are on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., or as arranged by the players.

  • Praise Band

Praise Band leads music and worship during the contemporary worship service at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. This service features contemporary praise and worship music and a more relaxed worship atmosphere. Contact Michael Pietranczyk, Director of Music for more information.

  • Sanctuary Choir

Sanctuary Choir leads the congregation in worship on Sundays at the 9:00 a.m. service, September through June and special/holiday services. Membership is open to all teens and adults who wish to sing. No audition is necessary. Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the Choir Room.
